About this litany:

Composed in the Middle Ages, the litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary holds a place of honor in the Church’s life because of its use at the shrine of the Holy House of Loreto, which is believed to be the home where Mary lived, conceived and raised Jesus. It was definitively approved in 1587 by Sixtus V for public use.
