Solemnity of Pentecost
Come Holy Spirit!
Prayer to the Holy Spirit

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

V. Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created.
R. And You shall renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray.

O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations. Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

“On the day of Pentecost when the seven weeks of Easter had come to an end, Christ’s Passover is fulfilled in the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, manifest, given, and communicated as a divine person: of his fullness, Christ, the Lord, pours out the Spirit in abundance.

“On that day, the Holy Trinity is fully revealed. Since that day, the Kingdom announced by Christ has been open to those who believe in Him (Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 731, referencing the Acts of the Apostles 2:33-36 [from “The Profession of Faith – The Spirit and the Church in the Last Days] and paragraph 732).
