Yes! I had a confessor tell me one day: We are as changeable as the weather.

I gather that I have a split spirituality. I am a benedictine oblate, but practice also what St. Theresa of Avila and St. John of the Cross’ treatise on prayer. I practice the rule of St. Benedict to learn to become more humble and develop virtue and learn to die of self (haven’t accomplished it yet!). I also love St. Francis since I was a child (my middle name is Frances) I asked Jesus when praying once, since I don’t know how to pray well, can I pray the prayer of St. Francis.? I have always loved it; for me it seems the perfect prayer next to the Our Father. So why do I seem not to have a core spirituality? Is it important that
I narrow it down to one; since all of them have helped bring me to know God better?
