Spiritual Gameplan for Lent

As we approach the season of Lent, it is important to have a plan for how we are going to spend it, how we might grow spiritually.

for post on spiritual gameplan for Lent…with our thanks to Father Michael Najim for sharing this video with us on having a spiritual gameplan for Lent.

Editor's Notes:

  • This was originally posted in 2013. So, the date for the start of Lent that he mentions is not February 13th this year. Rather, this year Ash Wednesday begins Lent on February 18th. We are posting this now in order to give you a head start so you can set up your Lenten gameplan in advance!

No video …only a blank space…at least on my screen.

    • LizEst

Hi Patricia – It’s working fine! Check your settings or have someone take a look at your set up.

      • Judy Silhan

Does .not play on Kindle Fire either, but does play on the computer.

        • LizEst

Thanks for that, Judy. I’ve checked it on Safari, Chrome and Firefox. All seems fine on those. Perhaps it doesn’t get picked up on a tablet or mobile device. Some people are able to see it because we can tell it is being shared on social media.

I get a blank screen as well. ???

  • Patricia

There is not an icon with a trianglar play button showing. It’s not that the video doesn’t play, but that there is nothing showing to click to play…..the usual rectangle with the play button. I can see and play vidoes from other sites and the other links from this page click through. Oh well, If others can see it, don’t worry about it for me. Thanks!

  • Colene Nydell

The background music in the video is louder than Father’s voice.

    • LizEst

That’s the original. We can’t change that here. Sorry.

  • Suzi dutro

No video here either just blank screen

  • LizEst

Everyone: There seems to be an issue with being able to view this video, which we cannot control from here. I’ve checked it on Safari, Chrome and Firefox. All seems fine on those. Perhaps it doesn’t get picked up on a tablet or mobile device. Other people can see it fine. We can tell because it is being shared on
    social media.

  • LizEst

Thanks for checking that for us AHD.

Thanks for weighing in Dom C. Yes, it is a great message. Father Najim has a way of simplifying and getting to the heart of things. Reminds me a little of Fr. Jacques Philippe. God bless you this coming Lent and always, Dom C.

Video working fine here, I am using Firefox browser.

    • LizEst

Thanks, also, for letting us know.

If you click on Fr. Najim’s website you can view this video without any problems.

  • Kate

Video came through fine for me. I look forward to more videos on Lent.

Well I have Safari and can not get it to play. It says it may be down loaded to I-books, PDF files….can not get it to do that. Went to his luck there. This sounds like an extremely valuable post. Any other ideas? I have not checked U-tube….does it happen to be there? Is there a printed source anywhere since it says one is available?

  • Clanci45

Thank you Liz for your prompt answer…BUT I am persistent and it does pay off…if people will push the “web” printed in red just below Fr.’s bio…it will take you directly to his site…there is one video before the Lenten video….as well as others available. Thank you, Liz, thrilled to know he is on UTube as well
