Finding a Relationship with God at the Avila Institute

As staff, we hear over and over that the courses offered at the Avila Institute for Spiritual Formation are life-changing.

relationship with God

This correspondence from a religious brother recently was inspiring for us to read. The brother wrote:

I am beginning to believe that a relationship with God is actually possible. As we discussed God's desire for us and the reason for our creation, I realized that God loves me and actually desires an intimate relationship with me. I don't know how to get there yet but the idea is burning deep within me – I can't stop thinking about it.

The Avila Institute was established to help people in all vocations to grow deeper in their formation and relationship with God.

Another student, a contemplative nun of 40 years, said, “Deep in my heart is a hunger for this union with God and it is edifying to share that hunger with those who are also taking the course.” She shared that though she has a life centered on prayer, she is always trying to learn more, to get past aridity and get closer to God.

These experiences are shared by our students in all vocations – priests, deacons, religious, and lay people – because our common vocation is the vocation to holiness. Will you consider allowing the invitation of Lent, and the opportunity for a relationship with God, to inspire you to try a course?
