How the Holy Spirit Plays into the Life of the Church

The Church may seem big and bulky, hierarchical and heavy, but the truth is that it was established by Jesus Christ to carry out His mission. The Holy Spirit is a critical element in this because it’s through His power that this is done.

life of the ChurchIn “The Holy Spirit in the Life of the Church,” a Spring quarter course in the School of Spiritual Formation at the Avila Institute for Spiritual Formation, students will get an overview of the action and presence of the Holy Spirit throughout salvation history.

The course will highlight God’s works of creation, redemption, and sanctification. It will also focus on interiorizing these foundational truths of the faith through prayer and personal reflection.

Led by Dr. Sebastian Carnazzo, this course promises to be one that will introduce you to the Holy Spirit — and His work within the Church — in a whole new way!

The registration deadline for Spring Quarter courses is coming up soon: February 10! For more information on any of our programs, please contact me at or visit
