Divine Intimacy Radio and Podcast is Coming!

Since the inception of, I have had a constant longing to better serve you in your desire to deepen your faith. Based on your regular feedback, I know we have done well with our content on the site. Even so, words on a screen only go so far toward building deeper relationships and drawing hearts more fully to Christ.

This longing, of course, has led to the successful launch of the Avila Institute for Spiritual Formation (more than 200 students now!) offering two different programs, Graduate level and the School of Spiritual Formation. We will also have another encouraging announcement coming this year regarding our ability to make this life-changing teaching more accessible to all.

In the meantime, Divine Intimacy Radio is our latest effort to serve you in your journey to heaven.

Globe Headphones transThe format is simple. Weekly, we will answer your call-in questions and talk about all matters pertaining to the challenging climb up the narrow way to union with God. In our first few episodes, we will talk specifically about spiritual direction. Then we will branch out to topics related to liturgical seasons and other lights on the path to heaven.

The show will be hosted by Melissa Elson and me. I met Melissa when she worked at EWTN Radio and we will introduce her a bit more on the first show which will launch (God willing) on Friday, January 30th. We will begin with one show per week and expand from there as time and resources allow.

How can you hear the show? The great news on this front is that the show will first emerge in podcast form. So, if you are subscriberDI-Radio-logo-podcast-327x380 to this site, you will receive blog posts with the link to listen to the show. The posts will be easy to identify as the graphic will be the one shown here. Once the technology is in place (hopefully in the next week or so), we will begin distributing the shows on iTunes as well.

How can you participate? We need your questions! If you would like us to answer your questions on air, please call (818) 646-7729 and record your question. Please state your name, where you are from, and then your question. Currently we are looking to answer questions on the topics of Lenten devotion and spiritual direction. In upcoming shows, we will answer a number of questions already called in.

Alcantara Cover Small.001Another important way you can participate is to support this effort financially. If have been blessed by our work and have not yet joined in to support it, my invitation to you is to begin with a simple commitment of $5.00 per month. Believe it or not, this is how we cover a big portion of our monthly costs allowing us to offer information on the site and radio for FREE. Good folks like you make small monthly commitments that combined with others, enabled us to provide millions of page views of content in more than 190 countries last year. In fact, the number of visitors to our site exceeded the size of 54 out of 190 countries!

For all those who either make a commitment of $5.00 per month or make a gift of $50.00 or more I will send a signed copy of my new book (in print by next month) entitled “Finding God Through Meditation.” The book is an updated translation of an extraordinary but not well-known work by St. Peter of Alcantara who was St. Teresa of Avila’s spiritual director. I have no doubt that deep reflection on this book will lead you to the heights of heaven.

If you are able to make a larger commitment or would like to sponsor the expansion of Divine Intimacy Radio, or if you would like to learn about our fund for the formation of priests, deacons, and religious, or to see our detailed plans and giving opportunities, please feel free to contact me at or by calling (818) 646-7729.
